Nashville Number System
9m 23s
Here’s a great way to keep your chords within a key organized. The “Nashville Number System” is aptly named because the Nashville session musicians would simply write down the numbers that correspond with the chord order within the key, rather than the chord. The reasoning behind this was that if the singer or producer wanted to change the key, they don’t need to rewrite the chart. It works well for us as Ukulele Players because someone else might want to play a song in a different key. Makes transposing on the fly a breeze!
